Klangschloss 2024 Wrap-Up
Klangschloss 2024 was an astonishing event, in many ways, when high-end hi-fi products and enthusiasts gathered at the Greifensee Castle, near Zürich. Weiss presented both the current line of products and some historical pieces of digital audio equipment – underlining the 40th anniversary of the company.
Weiss set up two separate listening environments at their showcase area at the castle, one presenting the current line of D/A converters and the other giving a sneak preview of the soon-to-be-released Livebox soundbar.
Streaming services and local files
The D/A converters MAN301R and HELIOS showed the Roon integration, giving the listeners the option to seamlessly integrate their local music collection with streaming services like Qobuz and Tidal. This system was connected to Cello power amplifiers and YG speakers, giving a stellar sound experience.
Soundbar with crosstalk cancellation
The Livebox is an “all in one” system; a soundbar with built-in streamer, DAC, power amps and a crosstalk cancelling technology for a life-like reproduction.
Weiss inside
Also present at Klangschloss 2024 was Konkret Akustik, showing their digital crossover speakers to the public for the first time. The Weiss DAC301 OEM D/A converter is used to drive these powered speakers.
Landenberg session recordings
The daily concert events were recorded via Weiss ADC1-MK2 A/D converter and the tracks were played to all rooms via an AES/EBU network. This allowed the visitors to compare different systems with the very same material in all rooms.
